Two Things I've Learned About Life

Past Future Fiction
Only the present experience is reality. The imagination constructs a verisimilitude of what we perceive to have been or will be, but this construct is far removed from the reality of the present moment. Thus, the internal monologue tells stories, a constant stream of tales and imaginings, like the ripples set of in a pond blown by the untamed wind.

Stay in the present!

Belligerence Begets Belligerence

Cry 'Havoc!' and let slip the dogs of war. (Julius Caesar)
In war, the innocent suffer the most while the profiteers wring their hands in anticipation of wealth. Tony's 'war' in Iraq has revealed to a whole younger generation in the UK and US that Bush and Blair's phony reason for invading the country has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths of innocent people and made the world an unsafe place in which to live. Sir John Chilcot's inquiry has proven what a dissimulator TB really is with his apparent refusal to see the truth that there was no reason to attack Iraq on the grounds and that they had something to do with AK and their attack on 9/11 or that they had WMDs; but TB had agreed with GB to change the regime, whether this was tacitly implicit in their thinking or not. If TB is not self-deluded into thinking that he was wrong, them he is a hypocrite. The implication of their deal and the resultant fall of SH, literally with the pulling down of his statue as a first act of his overthrow has resulted in bloodshed between the warring Muslim sects and the continued killing of innocent people.

But this is an old story. A devil's purpose (to control the oil?) with an angel's face.

War begets war, always has and always will. Iraq and consequently the killing fields of Afghanistan are the most recent examples of the truth of this maxim.
