Edinburgh is a windy city. My wife's relations, who come from Nepal, can't believe the wind constantly blowing along the streets. There are many things they don't understand about the culture here.
Some of the questions from my sister-in-law:
Who owns that duck? on seeing a duck in the water at Granton.
Who owns these cars? parked alongside the kerb at Granton by people going for a walk. Will someone not steal them?
Where are all the people?
Where do the swans sleep at night?
How far does the tide come in? at Portobello beach.
I've never seen such a big moon.
Who cleans the streets? They're very clean.
London's like Kathmandu. Lots of people...and it's warm.
